Sum 41 is a pop-punk band from Ajax, Ontario active since 1996. The current members are Deryck Whibley (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Cone McCaslin (bass guitar, backing vocals), Steve Jocz (drums, backing vocals), and Thomas Thacker (lead guitar, backing vocals, keyboard).

In 1999, the band signed an international record deal with Island Records. Since then, the band has released four studio albums, all of which have been certified platinum in Canada . Their most successful album to date is All Killer No Filler, which is certified 3x platinum in Canada and platinum in the United States . The album was fueled by the single "Fat Lip", which reached the top position on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, making it the band's most successful single. The second single from the album, "In Too Deep", reached number-ten on the Modern Rock chart .

The band often performs more than 300 times each year and holds long global tours, most of which last more than a year . They have been nominated for seven Juno Awards and have won twice . Group of the Year in 2002 and Rock Album of the Year for Chuck in 2005. They also have been nominated for three different Canadian Independent Music Awards: In 2004, they won a Woodie Award for "The Good Woodie (Greatest Social Impact They have also been nominated for a Kerrang! AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Although the band are commonly classified as hard rock, and considered pioneers of heavy metal, they have always classified their music as "rock and roll".AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977. In 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected as Scott's replacement. Later that year, the band released their best-selling album, Back in Black.

(se prononçant Plus Forty-Four) est un groupe de punk rock américain formé en partie des anciens membres du groupe Blink-182, Mark Hoppus et Travis Barker. Les autres membres sont le guitariste du groupe The Transplants, Craig Fairbaugh, et celui de The Nervous Return, Shane Gallagher. Après que les membres du groupe de pop-punk Blink-182 s'étaient entendus sur "une pause artistique indéfinie" en 2005, dont l'élément déclencheur fut une tension grandissante entre Tom DeLonge et Mark Hoppus, ils prirent des chemins séparés. Pendant que Tom DeLonge fonde le groupe Angel & Airwaves, Mark Hoppus et Tavis Barker créent +44. Le groupe

se nomme ainsi car c'est l'indicatif téléphonique international pour appeler le Royaume-Uni. C'est là-bas que Mark Hoppus et Travis Barker ont discuté pour la première fois de ce projet. Au départ, le groupe était composé de Hoppus, de Barker et de la chanteuse Carol Heller. Celle-ci quitta cependant prématurément le groupe pour des raisons familiales. On peut l'entendre dans la chanson "Make you smile" et dans la première version de "No, it isn't". Vocalement, ce sont ainsi Gallagher et Fairbaugh qui ont comblé le manque. Le premier album du groupe, When Your Heart Stops Beating, est sorti le 14 novembre 2006.

Simple Plan Foundation's press conference


The Simple Plan Foundation and the members of the group have held a press conference June 19, 2008, in the presence of the honorary president of their fundraising campaign, Mr L. Jacques Ménard, and of the representatives of the charitable organizations that received contributions, to announce the details of their campaign.

My 15 seconds of Glory during the launch of the group's third album, the members of Simple Plan have agreed to collaborate with Musique Plus and the Quebec ministry of Health and Social Services in a project entitled

Participants are asked to complete a 15 second video montage that includes a Simple Plan song extract of their choice. During the clip, participants are asked to express what they are truly passionate about. One winner will be selected every week. The overall winner, selected among six previous winners, will be eligible to attend the next Simple Plan concert in Montreal later on this year. They may also be invited on stage with the members of the band

C'est en 1993 que Soil (qui n'avait produit aucun album et très peu de concerts), le groupe fondé par Daron Malakian, devient System of a Down. Le nom est tiré d'un poème de Daron Malakian, Victims of a down. Dès son premier album homonyme en 1998, le groupe connait un certain succès. Leurs paroles engagées ont fait rapidement d'eux les porte-drapeaux de grandes causes, notamment la reconnaissance du génocide arménien. Des chansons comme Sugar (qui devient l'hymne du groupe avec Suite-Pee) et Spiders sortent en single.

Les Sex Pistols se sont séparés en 1978. La rupture rapide était sans doute inévitable entre des individualités fort différentes qui ont declenché si jeunes autant d'excitation créatrice chez les uns et de rejet chez les autres.

Un film fut tourné mettant l'accent sur une manipulation de Malcolm Mc Laren : The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle (« La grande escroquerie du Rock'n'Roll ») est lui-même une caricature commerciale nettement moins intéressante que le documentaire plus récent, The Filth and The Fury réalisé par le même metteur en scène, Julien Temple, où Lydon revient sur l'aventure du groupe.

En 1986, Alex Cox tourna une fiction sur la relation entre Sid Vicious et son amie : Sid and Nancy. Là encore un film commercial qui ne sut éviter le cliché.

meurtre de Nancy Spungen, sa petite amie. Sa mort d'une overdose en 1979 à New York après un séjour en prison a aidé à l'établissement de sa légende. Auparavant il avait repris le Comme d'habitude de Claude François, My Way comme Sinatra plus tôt mais de manière bien plus parodique. La chanson sert de fond sonore à la fin de The Goodfellas de Martin Scorcese. Un DVD est sorti en 2005 retraçant l'histoire du Punk et parlant aussi des sex pistols, le nom du DVD est "Punk".

Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987.[1] The band has consisted of Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass guitar, vocals), and Tré Cool (drums, percussion) for the majority of its existence.

Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Its early releases for independent record label Lookout! Records earned them a grassroots fanbase, some of whom felt alienated when the band signed to a major label.[2] Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie (1994) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. alone, and 15 million copies sold worldwide
